Math and Number Games

Fraction Pizza

Fraction Pizza is a Premium browser game for PlayPuzzle members aged 7 to 11 who are learning fractions. Six parts of Slice Street each teach one skill: naming the fraction on a pizza, cutting a pizza into equal slices and taking some, deciding which plate holds more, swapping one big slice for several small ones, adding slices to fill an order, and working out what is left after a customer eats. Every cut uses exact geometry over a realistic baked-pizza texture, so parts the game calls equal really are equal, and the same fraction can be shown as a pizza or as a bar because a child who can only read one picture has learned a picture rather than a number. Wrong answers explain the actual mistake — mixing up the top and bottom number, or thinking eighths are bigger than quarters — and cost a star, never the round. A PlayPuzzle sign-in with active access is required; progress remains stored on the device and the game works offline after the first authenticated visit.
